“The distance between who I am and who I want to be is infinity,” I wrote. I then said, “Oh Allah, help me change.”

But then I remembered, “Allah will not change the condition of a people until they change what is in themselves.” (Quran 13:11)

unraveledepiphanies:

Empty words pouring out of our mouths,

Words that are meaningless,

Words that are purposeless,

Words that bring no benefit.

..yet we continue talking.

Shh.

Listen to the things around you,

Just stop for a day and listen.

Use the silence to think of your past, present and future.

Silence doesn’t need to be filled all the time,

Sometimes it’s better to let it be.

God is love.

unraveledepiphanies:

I told myself not to look but my eyes darted at them, the two lovebirds. I couldn’t help but wonder what were they feeling. I’ve been in love a couple of times but in the end it wasn’t love. After a while the feeling passed by and I realized I didn’t experience love after all, it was just an illusion of love.

It took me sometime to realize that the only true love that I can ever experience is being close to God. No matter how much I sin, He’ll always be the Most Merciful. No matter how many people leave me, He’ll be the constant person. Whenever I have no one to talk to, complain to or pour my heart to, He’ll listen. Whenever I’ve lost hope, His words will soothe me.

Although my love for Him  is nothing compared to His love for me, He continues blessing me. Although I don’t do Him justice, He wakes me up everyday for 17 years, giving me a chance to be better each day. Therefore ask me what is love and I’ll tell you God is love. Ask me who is God and I’ll tell you God is the person who will give you love beyond the love you have ever experienced. Ask me how and I’ll tell you to count your blessings.

unraveledepiphanies:

I’m disappointed of all the hatred, chaos, selfishness, arrogance, ignorance, fools, starvation, shallow conversations, killings of humans and animals and the wars going on around the world. But without hatred, I wouldn’t appreciate love. Without chaos, I wouldn’t appreciate peace. Without selfishness, I wouldn’t appreciate humility. Without ignorance, I wouldn’t appreciate wisdom. Without fools, I wouldn’t appreciate amazing people. Without starvation, I wouldn’t appreciate food. Without shallow conversations, I wouldn’t appreciate deep and meaningful conversations. Without all the killings, I wouldn’t appreciate people who would save something as tiny as a worm. Without all the wars, I wouldn’t appreciate peace and tranquility.

In the end, everything happens to teach us something. Without the bad things happening, I won’t appreciate the good things as much as I do now. Alhamdulillah, for the good and the bad. Allah knows best.

 I don’t get it.
Why do people fight? Have wars? Kill one another? Torture a living human being? What’s the point really? Why can’t we all live peacefully, happily ever after? Why must we make life so much more difficult with all this violence surrounding us? What gives us the right to take out our razor sharp knife and slit the throat of someone? Are we the One who created him? Are we God? What gives us the right to take someone else’s life away?
Nowadays, people don’t understand. We don’t understand that violence isn’t the solution to everything. We don’t understand that human life is precious. All we think about is revenge. That guy with the striped shirt hit you with his elbow in the corridor? He’s as good as dead. We use violence to solve tiny, insignificant things. Things that don’t really matter. And then we complain on how much our life sucks. Instead of fighting, why don’t we focus on the more important things like global warming? The Earth is dying. Do something about it. Forget the people. Forget our grudges. Live in peace. And maybe then we’ll be happier. It could happen. We never know.
P.S. I know I posted on people having a reason and all that… but still. Do the people who kill for no reason have a reason? I mean, killing is a choice. Wars are choices made by the government. They aren’t unavoidable.

No, I’m not a devout Muslim but at least I do the basics. No, I’m not stick-thin but at least I’m normal. No, I don’t have perfect teeth but at least I have a sincere smile. No, I’m not tall but at least I’m stable. No, I’m not the type that sticks with the girls but at least I don’t have boyfriends. No, I’m not very talented, but at least I can do things. No, I’m not a millionaire, but at least I’m happy with my life. No, I’m not perfect and that is why I am human.
